Additional Services:

We are delighted to offer marriage ceremonies in person at both our Main Office in Fort Pierce and the South County Annex in St. Lucie West. Our dedicated staff is committed to making your special day memorable and enjoyable. Each ceremony is priced at $30, in addition to the required marriage license fee, ensuring that your ceremony remains both accessible and affordable.

• ✓ Ceremony Photography – $40.00 (non-refundable). Capture the beauty and joy of your ceremony with our photography package, which includes 15 professionally taken photos sent to you via email. Scheduling is required in advance.    Photos will be delivered within 2 to 3 weeks of the ceremony.

• ✓  Keepsake Certificate – $10.70 (non-refundable, sales tax included). We also offer a beautifully designed keepsake certificate. This certificate serves as a wonderful memento of your special day.  

• ✓  Wedding Package- $75.70 (non-refundable, sales tax included), package discount that includes Wedding Ceremony, Photography, and Keepsake Certificate. Scheduling is required in advance. Photos will be delivered within 2 to 3 weeks of the ceremony.

Appointments are not needed for Marriage Ceremonies unless you would like Ceremony Photography services

Please note that the marriage certificates are decorative and, as such, are neither a legal document nor ADA compliant.

To obtain a marriage license both parties may appear in person at the Clerk’s office with:  

• Federal or state identification card showing your name and date of birth, such as a driver license or passport (birth certificates are not accepted) 
• Social Security number 

To expedite the process, pre-apply for a marriage license prior to coming to the office in person. You will receive a transaction number to bring to the Clerk’s office. Pre-applying online begins the request process and does not constitute an issuance of a marriage license. 

Both parties must read the Family Law Handbook and sign an affidavit stating that the handbook was read.  

Pre-apply for a Marriage License

Please be advised that this appointment is a 30 minute Zoom Video Conference.

Once your online application is processed, instructions on how to submit a payment and schedule an appointment for the video conference will be emailed. Both spouses must be present on the video conference to sign and provide proof of pre-marital counseling, if applicable. The couple must also confirm receipt of the Family Law Handbook.  The zoom video conference is NOT a wedding ceremony. 

A federal or state ID showing your name and date of birth, such as a driver license or passport is required. You must provide your Social Security number as well. Birth certificates are not accepted. 

Once issued, the license is valid in any Florida county for 60 days. After the ceremony, it must be signed by the officiant and returned to the Clerk’s office within 10 days by mail or delivered to the Recording Department. It will be recorded, and a certified copy will be emailed to the address provided on the application.

At this time we are only able to offer video conference appointments for marriage licenses in English and Spanish.  Customers requiring translation into any other language will need to come to the Clerk’s office in person with a translator.

Apply for a Marriage License

There is a three-day waiting period before you may use your license to get married. This waiting period can be waived if both applicants attend counseling.

The St. Lucie Clerk of the Circuit Courts office accepts any marriage counseling certification from pastors or counselors. You must print and/or bring in your course completion certificate to the office. There is no waiting period for non-Florida residents. 

Couples who attend counseling, whether or not they are Florida residents, can bring in their certificate of completion and receive a $25 discount on the cost of their license.
