St. Lucie Clerk's office to extend hours for Passport Fridays

Picture of passport book FORT PIERCE, FLA. (June 21, 2021) To assist residents as they prepare to travel once again, the St. Lucie Clerk and Comptroller's office will be holding passport events at both the downtown Fort Pierce and St. Lucie West locations on Friday, June 25, and July 23.

These events, designated as Passport Fridays, provide the public with additional opportunities to come in and apply for a passport as an individual or schedule multiple appointments for a family. The appointment windows are extended at both locations, with slots available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled at stlucieclerk.com/services/passports.

"After so many people had to cancel plans to travel or visit family over the last year, it's understandable they're eager to reschedule those trips," said Clerk Michelle R. Miller. "We want to ensure that any citizen who needs a passport receives service in a timely fashion."

To participate in this event, an individual must be a first-time passport applicant or have an expired passport that was issued no more than 15 years ago. If the applicant is under 16, both parents or legal guardians must authorize the issuance of the passport, and all applicants, including children, must be present.

Applicants should bring a completed, unsigned passport application to their appointment. This form is available at www.travel.state.gov. In addition, valid proof of citizenship, a photo ID, and passport photos are required. For a fee, applicants wishing to receive passports in less than 12 weeks can request expedited service.
